AI-assisted tools policy
GAP permits responsible use of AI-assisted tools when authors remain accountable, confidential material is protected, and use is disclosed where relevant.
Authorship and accountability
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, permissions, ethical compliance, and integrity of submitted work.
Disclosure
Substantive use of AI-assisted tools for writing, analysis, image generation, translation, or data processing should be disclosed in the manuscript or cover letter when it affects the research or presentation.
Peer review confidentiality
Editors and reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts, reviewer reports, or unpublished editorial material into external AI tools unless the journal has explicitly approved a secure workflow.
Images and data
AI-generated or AI-altered images, figures, or data summaries must not misrepresent research findings. The source, method, and any post-processing should be transparent.
